Arrival at Bucharest Airport. Meeting point: the Information Desk at the Henry Coanda Airport. Transfer to your 4* hotel, check in . At 19h00, meet with your guide at the hotel reception and walk to a local restaurant for  Dinner and overnight stay.


Departure to Curtea de Arges, formal  capital of Wallachia  and visit the Episcopal  Church  where the Romanian Kings are burried. Drive along the picturesque Olt Valley to Cozia Monastery ( the 14th cent. )-a Byzantine monument, with its magnificent collection of icons on glass (the 17th  and 18th cent).

Arrive in Sibiu, one of the oldest cities in Transylvania, formerly  Hermannstadt – founded by the Saxon colonists. Guided walking tour of the medieval town  ( the Main Square, the Evengelical  Church, the Liars  Bridge etc).


Morning departure to Sighisoara, birthplace of de Vlad the Impaler (“Dracula“). En route, visit Biertan Village and the fortified church. Arrive at Sighisoara, visit the medieval Citadel, included in the UNESCO World Heritage: The Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill, the House of Dracula, the roofed staircase, etc.

Drive on to Targu Mures, walking tour through the ellegant city centre, well-known for its architecture: the Culture Palace, the Orthodox Churches, the Teleki-Bolyai Library. Drive on to to Bistrita and visit the Gothic Cathedral. It is the place where Jonathan Harker, Bram Stoker’s hero spent the night before arriving at Dracula Castle. Dinner and overnight stay in 3* centrally located hotel. After dinner, optional night walking tour.


Departure to Maramures, the land of wood, the region where the most authentic rural life can be found. A trip to Maramures is, in every season, a wonderful experience: visit the traditional villages with their wooden portals, the Merry Cemetery at Sapanta – situated very close to the border side with Ukraine, a true chronicle in verse about the villagers’ life. Late afternoon, return to Vadu Izei, via Sighetu-Marmatiei where you can admire the churches dating from the Austro-Hungarian period. Dinner and overnight at Vadu Izei / Sighetu Marmatiei 3*.


In the morning, visit the Rozavlea and Ieud monasteries, continue with the Peasant Museum at Dragomiresti. Lunch en route. Drive on to Bucovina, the land of the unique painted monasteries, belonging to the UNESCO World Heritage. In Bucovina, admire the beautifully decorated houses. Arrive at Campulung Moldovenesc, to visit the Wooden Museum.


In the morning, discover Voronet  Monastery – the jewel of Bucovina, also called « the Sistine Chapel of the East » Then visit the Monastery Moldovita, also included in UNESCO Heritage which received the Order „la Pomme d’Or”,  awarded by the world’s journalists  to the monasteries of Bucovina. Continue with  Sucevita Monastery (1585) – a genuine  fortress. Stop at the beautiful village of Marginea, famous for its black pottery. Return to Gura Humorului for dinner and overnight in a 4* hotel.


Departure across the beautiful land of Moldavia with its typical villages.  Stopover at the village of Tarpesti  – the home of the delightful Neculai Popa Museum, where colourful masks and folk costumes are displayed. Continue to the monastery Secu (1602), with its unique fortified  entrance and classical elements of Moldavian and Wallachian architecture, an example  for all Moldavian churches. Continue to  the Monastery of  Agapia, surrounded by small houses  where  approx. 200 nuns live in, like in a monastic village . In the afternoon,  drive along the Lake Bicaz and the dam to admire another lovely place of the country. Cross Bicaz Gorges on foot, if weather is fine, continue to the Red Lake resort. Dinner and overnight in 3* hotel  in  Lacu Rosu / Miercurea Ciuc.


Departure for Brasov. On the way visit Prejmer and  the fortified church – included in UNESCO Heritage.  We continue the tour to Bran and visit the famous medieval castle, built for the citizens of Brasov in 1377 in order to defend the city. Prince Vlad used the castle as a residence while he travelled throughout Transylvania. Over the years, the castle stood as a medieval art museum. Time for shopping souvenirs at Bran Village. Arrive at Brasov,  walking tour to discover the City Hall, the Black Church, the Hirscher House, the baroque style buildings. Dinner and overnight stay in 3* hotel located in the old historical city.


In the morning, cross the Carpathian Mountains to arrive at Sinaia, one of the most beautiful mountain resorts, so-called the « Pearl of the  Carpathians ». Visit to the fabulous Peles  Castle – former residence of the Royal family with its armoury collection, unique for richness and its diversity. Continue to Bucharest, Panoramic sightseeing of the city will reveal the highlights of the so-called “The Paris of the Balkans” in the early 20th century, an amazing city where modernity exists together with imposing monuments and buildings dating from 19th – 20th century. Visit the House of Parliament, built 1984 -1989, the second largest building in the world, with unique marble decorations, wooded sculptures made of rare essence. Check in at your 4* hotel, walking tour in the Old City. Farewell  dinner in a lovely brasserie,  keeping immortal the old time of Bucharest spirit.

Time at leisure. Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
