DAY 1 - Arrival at Cluj Napoca

Arrival at Cluj-Napoca Airport. Meeting with the guide and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at a 3 star hotel in Cluj-Napoca.

DAY 2 - Cluj Napoca - Bistrita - Gura Humorului

In the morning half day city tour – see the main touristic attractions from the Capital of Transylvania like: St Michael Church, the house where the Hungarian king Matias Corvin was born, the Opera House, the Theatre etc. Continue to Bucovina through Bistrita. Visit the church with the tallest tower in Transylania, then drive on to Campulung Moldovenesc – visit the world famous wood artifacts museum. Afterwards drive to Gura Humorului. Dinner with Moldavian specialties. Overnight for two nights.

DAY 3 - World Cultural Heritage in Bucovina

After breakfast visit the UNESCO- Monasteries in Bucovina, also named the Moldavian Monasteries. First visit the Voronet Monastery – “The Sixteen Chapel of the East in blue”, one of the best preserved monasteries of the 15th century with frescos. Continue visiting the Moldovita monastery, the Sucevita Monastery – the “Pearl of the Moldavian Monasteries” and the ceramics workshop from Marginea. Late afternoon visit the Monastery in Humor, founded by a noble family. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 - Gura Humorului - Agapia - Bicaz Gorge - Brasov

Early morning drive through Targu Neamt and Piatra Neamt to Bicaz Gorge. En-route visit the Agapia monastery, the largest nun monastery (almost 500) in the country. Short walk through the Bicaz Gorge. Continue towards Transylvania passing through Miercurea Ciuc. Visit the fortified church in Prejmer, the most important and best preserved fortified church in Transylvania. Dinner in a local restaurant. After dinner drive to Brasov. Overnight accommodation for 2 nights.

DAY 5 - Brasov - former Kronstadt

Morning city tour in Brasov. Visit the main touristic features of this middle aged city inside the Carpathian Arch: The Council Hall, the Black Church (inside visitation included), the Weaver’s Bastion (inside visitation included), the Black and the White Tower, the Schei quarter etc. In the afternoon continue to Bran to visit the Dracula Castle. After visit the peasant’s citadel in Rasnov. Dinner in Brasov with Transylvanian-Saxon specialties. Overnight.

DAY 6 - Brasov – Sighisoara – Biertan – Sibiu

After breakfast drive to Harman, one of the “Seven Citadels”. Continue to Sighisoara – visit the UNESCO- world cultural heritage city: the covered staircase, the Church on the Hill, and the Clock Tower and many other sightseeing objectives. In the afternoon drive to Biertan. Visit the imposing fortified church which was the Bishop’s residence for almost 300 years. After departure to Sibiu. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 - Sibiu - Cluj Napoca

In the morning admire the main sightseeing objectives of the 2007 European Cultural Capital: The Evangelic Church, The council tower, the liar’s bridge etc. In the afternoon drive to Cluj Napoca passing through Alba Iulia, the heart of Romania’s history. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Cluj Napoca.

DAY 8 - Cluj Napoca – flight back home

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
