Bucharest, Transylvanian Castles & The Danube Delta - 2009

Day 1 BUCHAREST

Arrival at Bucharest. Lunch in local restaurant.
Bucharest city tour, Known for its wide, tree-lined streets, magnificent Belle Époque buildings and an reputation for the high life.(which in the 1900s earned its nickname of “Little Paris”), Bucharest, Romania's largest capital and city, is today a busy metropolis.
Dinner and night in 3 stars hotel.


Day 2 BUCHAREST – BRASOV / POIANA BRASOV  

Departure to Brasov with stops for visits:
Peles Castle: Considered by many one of the most beautiful castles in all Europe, Peles Castle is a masterpiece of German new-Renaissance architecture. Commissioned by King Carol I in 1873 and completed in 1883, Peles' interiors are an opulent display of elegant design and historical artifact. Its 160 rooms are adorned with the finest examples of European art, Murano crystal chandeliers, German stained-glass windows, walls covered with Cordoba leather, Meissen and Sevres porcelains, ebony and ivory sculptures.
Bran Castle - This fortified medieval castle, often referred to as Dracula's Castle, was built in 1377 to protect nearby Brasov from invaders. Bran is home to a rich collection of Romanian and foreign furniture and art items from the 14th-19th Centuries. The castle sits high a top a 200 ft. tall rock overlooking the picturesque village of Bran. On the grounds below there is an open-air ethnographic museum of old village buildings with exhibits of furniture, household objects and costumes.

Day 3 BRASOV – TULCEA  

In the morning Brasov city tour: Panoramic city tour of Brasov with Black church exterior (open church 10h00) Brasov's famous landmark and Romania’s leading gothic church, the Black Church towers over the Council Square and the old town: and with visit at St. Nicolas church: Like other medieval churches, it is surrounded by protective walls with large wooden gates. The enclosure shelters a small old cemetery where several *prominent people of Romania are buried. The First Romanian School, now a museum, the Library and the Archives of Saint Nicholas Church also are found on nearby grounds.
Departure to Tulcea with stop at Sinaia Monastery.
Lunch with wine at Buzau, a well known winery area.
Dinner and night at 3 stars hotel in Tulcea.


Day 4 TULCEA – BUCHAREST  

Full day trip in Danube Delta.
Typical lunch with fish.
In the afternoon departure to Bucharest.

Dinner and night in 3 stars hotel.

Day 5 BUCHAREST  

Transfer to the airport.
