Transylvania adventure holiday

Adventure tour - hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, horse ride in Dracula's country.

Day 1 - Otopeni airport in Bucharest - Sinaia - Brasov (160 km)
Meet at Bucharest Otopeni airport. Travel by road along the scenic Prahova valley, through the picturesque mountain resorts of Sinaia and Predeal. Arrive in Bran, old gateway to Transylvania, for a welcome and dinner at the main base near Dracula's Castle.

Day 2 - Horse riding up in Bucegi Mountains
Breakfast with natural, fresh, home made food. Ride those splendid, mountain adapted horses, through the dark woods in Mt. Bucegi, admiring breathtaking landscapes.

Today we will go for a 4 or 5 hours horse riding trip. At noon you will be in at over 1500 meters high, having a picnic lunch. After lunch descend back to Bran, and return to accommodation for dinner.

Day 3 - Easy biking through Piatra Craiului Mountains
After breakfast in main base transfer to Dambovicioara gorges. Here we jump on our bikes for a 35 km tour, mostly on forestry roads in one of the wildest area in Romania mostly through dense coniferous woods, and in some meadows the wild ridges of Piatra Craiului mountains is closely visible.

Day 4 - Mountain biking from Caraiman peak ( over 2300 meters )
At the first our in the morning, after breakfast, departure to Caraiman peak, where the Prahova Valley with its spas, can be seen at 1500 meters just bellow your feet. The landscape in just unbelievable. Here is the monument dedicated to the First World War heroes who died defending Prahova valley against Germans.

Descend on mountain bike to Babele chalet where you will find the Romanian sphinx, a human face natural shaped rock. Lunch. You are now at 2200 meters high and descending till 800 meters high to Sinaia on a 23 km long rocky trail. Transfer to Bran.

Brasov - medieval city sight.

Then departure to the medieval city of Sighisoara and lunch in the house where Vlad the Impeller (Dracula) lived.

In the evening we will return to Bran accommodation.

Days 7and 8 - Hiking to Omu peak (2507 meters high)
This hiking trip will take us through the scenic valley of Gaura (Hole valley) and the tight very abrupt trail at Scara, up to the highest chalet in Romania situated at 2507 meters high on the Omu peak. Here we can enjoy the surrounding landscape. Accommodation in tents or in Omu chalet.

On the second day of hiking we will descend through the Stag's Valley down to Busteni.

Transfer to Bran for accommodation.

Day 9 - Transfer to airport and departure
The basic 9 days tour price £850 / person*

Tour price is based on double occupancy, but single supplements are also available.
