Mountain biking in southern Transylvania
The Bucegi Mountains are one of the most spectacular mountains in Romania. A large network of forestry roads and trails, the superb landscapes, are making these mountains the perfect place for a unforgettable mountain biking holiday.
Day 1
- Pick up from the airport
- Bus transfer to pension** in Bran (200 km.)
- Short, bike or walking, tour in surrounding area 4-5 km. optional!
Day 2
- Early in the morning, after breakfast we go for Bran Castle (Dracula's castle) 10km from our accommodation.
- Lunch in Bran near to the castle.
- Next stop is Sinaia 35 km - Palace Hotel***
Day 3
- After breakfast we check out from the hotel, and start the 15 km climb to Bulboci lake. Here we will have a picnic lunch. From this point the road climbs easily to our hotel Pestera Hotel** in Bucegi Mountains.
- Visit the Ialomitei Cave, near to hotel.
- 10 km. moderate road, 17 moderate - hard road, multiple climbs and descends no van support
Day 4
- From Pestera Hotel we take the cable car to Babele Chalet (cable transport included). Here on the top of Bucegi plateau we will visit the Romanian sphinx - a wind shaped rock resembling to a human face. Descend 25 km to Sinaia. (25 km. moderate mostly descends, no van support).

Day 5
- From Sinaia we go for Busteni on a 9 km. easy road. From here we continue with an easy road on the Stag's Valley up to the Gura Diham chalet. From this point the wide path takes us deep in the northern woods of Bucegi Mountains, untill we reach the Diham valley. That was the hardest part of our trip. In a few kilometers we find the forestry road that will take us down to Bran.

Day 6
- Transfer to Dambovicioara. From here we take the bikes for a 35 km tour, mostly on forestry roads in one of the wildest area in Romania mostly through dense coniferous woods, and in some meadows the wild ridges of Piatra Craiului mountains is closely visible.

Day 7
- Round trip on forestry roads on the eastern side of Piatra Craiului Mountains. The trip will take us through the dispersed villages of Sirnea and Pestera. Easy - moderate road 31 km
- Accommodation in pension** Bran
Day 8
- Transfer to Bucharest airport.
Tour price £734 / person. Price is based on double occupancy (2 persons in room) single supplements are also available.
